Does this picture make your heart skip a beat!?

Yeah, me too.  Dipped silverware are such a fun and whimsical way to add color to a table setting, or buffet.  It is also a great way to make a cohesive set out of mismatched antique silver.   I love this idea, especially for serving utensils.  2nd Street Emporium has a great selection of antique flatware that is perfect for this project.  And here is a link to a helpful tutorial.

I have had a lot of luck with spray painting metal in the past, and spray paint is definitely the way to go for this project.  It will give you a more even finish, and better durability than other paints.  I would suggest hand washing, and not allowing your finished product to sit in water for too long, just in case.
